Do recognize the above photo? It's loosely based on Giorgione's "Sleeping Venus" and comes from a series that Patrick Nicholas has recently done based on old (and not so old) masters ( see "Le Belle Romagnole" at www.patnicholas.com). Some of these photographs are published in the Sunday Times magazine of July 17 2005. In the Patrick Nicholas masterclass tuition covers: use of materials (film, digital, colour, black and white), the camera and lens ( digital compact, 35mm both digital and film, medium format film cameras) , composition, props and set dressing, filters, flash and reflectors, plus an introduction into digital manipulation, ink-jet printing and presentation. An intensive 3 day course with model that takes place in the uncomparable beauty of the Tuscan-Umbrian landscape from which the great Renaissance masters took their inspiration.
